Gt 840m and GT 850m

Hi, I am looking to buy either of 2 laptops. Zenbook UX32LN with an 840m or a ASUS N550Jk with an 850M.

How do these cards stack up? Also, I am currently on a Radeon 4850 on a desktop. How much improvement will I see with either of them?

850M should be almost twice as powerful as 840M and around GTX 560 Ti level of performance - IF you can find it in DDR5 version.

If not... I wouldn't buy it, and would get 860M instead. But which one? GK104 or GM107... sigh

These kinds of practices where they're allowed to sell different products (DDR3/5, GK104/GM107) under the same name should be forbidden.

GK104 vs GM107 version is not that clear cut case (at least performance wise),

but DDR3 version (like in ASUS N550Jk) will get stomped all over by DDR5 850M
