i tried to turn on my 360 the other night and was greeted by an entirely green and frozen screen. not even the splash screen came up. i didn't have my headphones on so i'm not sure if there was any audio. i tried power cycling a bunch of times, unplugging the power from the back of the 360, unplugging the av plug, switching inputs on the tv, putting in a dvd instead of a game, putting in no disc. same thing.
i did a little research and this is apparently a precursor to RRoD.
tonight i'm going to try powering up w/o the HDD. if that doesn't work, it looks like i'll soon be making a call to MS to await a box.
anyone else have any experience with GSoD?
UPDATE: i switched the AV switch to TV and video now works again. switching back to HDTV and there is no video. does this mean that the AV cable is the culprit, or is there the possibility that the vid card is damaged?
UPDATE 2: i borrowed a friend's cable and everything worked so i went out and bought a new vga cable and now everything is back to normal
