I have the 128MB Cendyne Gruvstick, which is very much like Creative's Nomad MuVo. Here is a comparison between the Gruvstick and MuVo mp3 players. They also work as USB Memory Keys.
I can transfer Gruvstick files without problem on a Windows 2000 Pro machine. I cannot do so with a Windows XP Pro machine. The player is detected as a Removable Mass Storage Device and I can see files. However, I cannot transfer or use any of those files.
The Gruvstick uses the STMP3410 chipset which, in theory, supports the USB mass storage protocol (the standard that lets you just slam these things into Macs, PCs or Linux without needing drivers). I have tried:
1. Using autodetected drivers in WinXP Pro SP1.
2. Uninstalling above drivers and installing drivers from the software CD and website.
3. Halting my virus scanner and trying #1 and #2.
4. Screaming at the device to work.
So I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any ideas?
