Am I the only one bothered by anyone who talks like that, not just white kids?

Right!
I was just getting ready to post that exact thing.

Every time I hear that I want to say.

"No, even though I was born and raised in this country. By parents who were born and raised in this country and English has aways been my primary main form of comunication. I infact have NO clue what your saying. Is that supposed to be English?"

i wear my hat backwards sometimes.. not to be a 'thug' or anything, actually i hate how it looks. But sometimes its just more comfortable that way or more practical.. the bill of the hat gets in the way sometimes.. And my girlfreind thinks i look good with my hat on backwards.

i'm sure when you were younger, your generation had lots of slang words and your parents probably said the same thing... "i dont get these kids todya with their crazy words and stuff... what does "does calling somebody a square" mean anywys?"

:p

It makes me mad too. Don't take this the wrong way either but the hosts on BET are f**king imbeciles because of their brainless uneducated lingo that they force on anybody watching that station.

That's true rallispec.
But we never went out of our way to sound uneducated.

And to talk that way, IMO just makes that person sound dumber than a bag of hammers.

We used some words back then that were slang.
A LOT of those can now be found in Webster's.
I'm sure that "know what I'm say'in?" will NEVER be found in any dictionary.
Using slang words is one thing.
Talking like there are some synapse's' crossed up in your brain buy repeating a idiotic phrase after every other word is another.

This is true. Ebonics truly strives to separate the language from the accurate, or at least societally accepted ways of communicating. The culture is continually coming up with new and increasingly silly things to say. Although most age groups have their own words the language is kept fairly complete. Ebonics mixes up so many words and throws in so many useless sayings. For example:

"Keeping it real" <- meaningless
"They got they groove on" <- wtf?
"I gost ta axe you a question" <- again, wtf?

Axe isn't even easier than "ask"; it is just used in some pathetic attempt to seperate from the rest of how most people in society speak.

Pardon my typo, but that's hardly the same thing. ;)
