GRUB doesn't like my keyboard

I have the Saitek Eclipse keyboard. I love it to death. The only problem I have (so far) with it, is that in GRUB, I cannot select which OS I want to boot into, so it boots into Ubuntu each time. Now, when I plug in my old MS Wireless Comfort Keyboard, GRUB works fine. I haven't messed with the BIOS very much yet as it was 4:00 AM that night. If I don't reply immediately, I am probably in my BIOS. Both keyboards are USB. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

There's nothing special about GRUB, it uses basic BIOS routines for input so if the keyboard works in the BIOS it should work in GRUB.

My keyboard does work in the BIOS. I press Delete and I go right in and can OC my CPU, change my boot order, change the CAS latency on my RAM, everything. I just can't use GRUB for some reason.

Yes, check the "USB legacy device support" option or similar / related ones.

Update the the latest stable BIOS.

Also try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port / hub, and debug the
situation with EVERYTHING else possible DISCONNECTED from your computer's
USB ports.

For instance, I have a BIOS problem where if I have anything at all plugged into
my monitor's built in USB hub, NOTHING USB works in the BIOS during certain stages
of its operation, it just sort of hangs up or goes unresponsive to keyboard input.
If I unplug the USB devices for a while until the BIOS finishes its memory test, THEN
connect the things, it works fine.

Things often work better if your keyboard / mouse is plugged directly into the PC's
USB ports rather than through an external USB hub.

If you do use external hubs, check to make sure they're not borderline overloaded
in terms of power consumption of the USB devices they feed, temporary overcurrent
conditions can make BIOS / GRUB not use certain USB peripherals. Optical mice
draw a lot of power, for instance. Plug in the DC power feed to your USB hubs if possible.

I managed to get my kb to work. I forgot that the default settings in my BIOS has USB keyboards disabled. Thanks for all the help guys. 🙂
