Sat down, started using my computer and pop up ads galore! WTF I wondered. Took a look at the desktop and there were 4 or 5 new programs.... Ran spybot (ran it yesterday and my system was clean) and it found 48 files, registry entries, etc. Ran adaware, and it found about 30 more. Had to reboot to finish cleaning the files out... Porn Dialer?! wtf is that? I checked the history and apparently he clicked a link from a game cheat codes site (the kids were playing quake 3 between the computers).... incredibly convincing pop-up box that says to click "OK" I can see how he was tricked into installing it, but he shouldn't have been clicking those links in the first place.. GRR!!!

My lil-bro-in-law is on his third strike with this. Twice he's installed something on my PC that has resulted in a ton of spyware to be installed as well. Likely candidates are the new napster, bearshare, and/or some dinky games he's playing on the web. He's about to lose his computer privileges when he comes to my house if he does it one more time.

I probably should just set up a username on my PC for him that doesn't allow him to install anything.

Unfortunately, I've told him TWICE not to install anything on my PC with out my permission and it just went in one ear and out the other.
