Grrrr: Intec PSOne 4-Inch LCD Monitor $29 @ KBtoys *Update: MAKES ME CUSS*

Intec 4 Inch PSOne Screen $29.99 @ KB Toys

Since I had a PSOne around collecting dust I decided to buy it for use on that long car trip to Burning Man. Don't know about the quality but I'll follow up this post when I get it. This is the one with the "dustpan" underneath to hold the console. To San Diego the price total was $38 & some change. If it sucks I can return it to a local KB Store. Not sure if I'll have to eat shipping cost.

***Update***

It arrived, opened it up, played diablo and tomb raider 3 and rampage, and throught, hey, this isn't bad. Kinda small, not the sharpest, it's not the best screen in the world but it's worth 30 bucks. I watched fellowship of the ring thru it as it has auxillary jacks and built in speakers. Played a winamp visualization thru my card's tv out... Then I went back to diablo. And then...

Next day playing Diablo. A long vertical green line appeared on the screen, all in line, while loading level four in teh dungeon. Maybe my PSOne is whack. So0o.... I save game, unplug it, disconnect, hook back up, still there. Also in Tomb Raider. So I play some video on it from my PC. There's dead pixels on my pr0n. Then the whole screen starts flickering. Dead pixels in a long green line. Like a green sharpie.

I'm taking it back to the local store. It's a shame, because it was nice and a good deal for the one day it worked... Perhaps you will have better luck than me.:|

any way i could hook this up to a computer? and can i get those speakers to act as the internal speaker?

edit: i want to make a mp3 car-puter, already got the computer, now got to get a monitor.

Let us know if you see a possible way to attach it to the PS2 without using a bunch of duct tape.

Hint for the nontechnically inclined: It's called composite in and audio jacks.

As long as you video card has a tv out, you are set. This has video line in.

I was speaking about mounting it to the Playstation2. I had no doubt the thing would work, but getting attached and stable on a PS2 is probably something that would require duct tape and/or other similar methods.

This would pretty much suck as a monitor for a car-puter. Too small and the text is going to be very fuzzy due to the simple video interface. It will cost more, but try and find one with a standard VGA input. Search ebay for POS (point of sale) monitors.

(Still haven't got it, took the loooong shipping route)

This'd probably be no good for a carputer. Try the forums at mp3car.com. There's not many decent widely available monitors for a carputer on the market, unless you want to buy a pricey lcd controller and put it in a pci slot. But here's the Xenarc 7" Widescreen VGA Touchscreen also available without touchscreen and without vga. I think spysupply and a few others sell it. Pricey.

Heh heh I luuuust after it. But I cannot justify the expense. The Wife Would Kill Me. I had a carputer project going but I accidentally fried most of my components because I don't know shiz about electricity.
