grrrr....back pain

ouch! I was transferring 6 ton of sand from the street to the backyard and was down to the last 2 wheelbarrows full. i was scraping the street with the shovel as there was not much left, and when I brought up the shovel to toss into the barrow i felt a sharp pain in my lower back, technically right about the start of the crack. i stumbled into the house and writhed on the floor for 10 minutes, took some tylenol and alleve. at first it felt like a giant cramp, now 5 hours later it still hurts real bad, although not like it first did, and I just woke up from a nap and it hurts to get up, to lay, to move around in general! no pain in my legs or anything..just the lower back.

what did i do to myself and is this serious?

little background on me: 29yr old male, 5'10" 170lbs. pretty strong guy. i've never felt anything like this and i routinely move 80lb monitors around at work..:|

I always do the old 15 on 15 off with ice for the first few hours, then a nice electric blanket for a while after that...dont know if its the right thing to do...but it helps

80lb monitors?? oooh...can you come move my computer for me when I get back to school? I had to move it to a "safe" place in my dorm room and i almost dropped it cause it was so heavy!! So yea...March 23rd...Rutgers University..I'll be waiting.

😛 Hope that cheered you up some....cause I'm serious. 😀

Dunno what you did to your back..but good luck and get well soon!! I really will be waiting....

heehee.

bah, screw the muscle relaxers, go for the narcotics you'll feel better...trust me.

Soma does mean body in greek. It's actually even pronounced the same way in greek which is unusual 'cause typically words get butchered in the translation.

Coolness...I was right. Then sema means "jail". Yay...i DID learn something in philosophy!

Ex-builder here-33. Know a thing or two about back pain. One of the best treatments I have found is acupuncture followed by chiro. The acupuncture relaxes the muscles and then the chiro is more efective, imop. With my back I have to do this once a month.🙂

By the way. It dose not take much to put a back out. Usually when you are bending over and you move in an odd way😀

Get the book "The New Back Doctor" by Hamilton Hall. Will give you a pretty good idea as to what is going on back there. Get it back there? Anyway it's a great book.

tylenol is no good for inflamation; u need ibuprofen or asprin

also try thermacare heat wraps; they sell a back wrap - excellent!
