How come when you want to create a meeting with outlook/exchange, you can't specify the people and room you want to be included and have it tell you when everyone's free? You should be able to put your list of people in hit "Find a good time" or something and have it give you a list of when everyone can make the meeting because it's checked their calendars and knows they're free. Am I missing something, or shouldn't this be part of an otherwise pretty good e-mail/calendar sharing platform?

you can find when people are free by looking at their calendars when the meeting is going to be made.
 
There's a scheduling tab for meeting requests that will show other attendee's schedules. But it will only work if their calendar is used on the exchange server folder, and not a personal folder.
 
Man I hate exchange students too. Can't fvcking communicate with them and they fvck up the curve (the ones from China).
 
You guys don't get it. I realize there's a scheduling tab, and that's all fine and dandy. What I'm saying, is in the scheduling tab, maybe there should be a button that when clicked brings up a small window with timeslots in which all the of the attendees are free/available. Then you could select one of those for the time for the meeting. In other words, there should be a way to search multiple peoples calendars to find a timeslot where all parties are available. Exchange (to my knowledge) doesn't do this.

You mean the AutoPick feature? We use it all the time where I work.

Yep, in Outlook 2000/2003 it's in the "Attendee Availability" tab I believe.

Maybe it's a setting they need to turn on. Good luck!
 
Im running office 03 and it does the autopick by default, there is a button on the bottom left that finds the next availble time for all attendees

Unfortunately I don't set myself busy for all my time in advance.

I believe most don't.

I have not wanted to book a meeting like that and I am in meetings all the time.
