Hello,

I sold my Sprint Phone on Ebay. Is there any way I can easily get the numbers off of it. Right now I am going thorugh it one by one.

It's a Samsung VGA 1000 (A620 Phone) And how do I make sure they phone is deactivated so the other person can't use it to make calls. I have allready called Sprint and Discontinued the account.

Thanks
Phil

If you have another phone, Sprint can transfer the phone numbers from one to the other.

They can also de-activate the phone.

There should be a delete all option, probably in your security settings. Long as your account is deactivated they can't use your phone. RTM.

I think he's more worried about manually transferring each number. It sucks... how does Sprint do it for you ? I manually moved all my numbers a few months back (ported from Sprint to VZW) and all the "keystrokes" was such a PITA.

Ahh, yea I should learn to read 😱 What Eaglekeeper said.

Sprint can only do it to another phone of the same model.

Otherwise, they can give you a print out from your phone and then you can just erase all the entries.

i was just told (i don't believe it personally) that you can go into a store and have them extract contacts from any phone to any other phone. again, i think it's bullshjt, but never hurts to try.

Is the account dead, of have you put a new phone on it?

If the account is dead, just clear your phone book and don't worry about the rest.

If you've replaced the phone and are still using your old phone number/account, most cellphones have a hidden master reset function that you can use. You can also set your MIN (that's your phone number) to 000-000-0000, and that will stop the old phone from connecting to the network and confusing the system. (You don't want two phones with the same MIN on the network, because it can cause your current phone not to ring, and your text messages and VM notifications can still get sent to the "deactivated" phone.)

I actually canceled sprint and went back to cingular. I got all the numbers off and deleted most of the pictures I had. Left the ring tones on there.

Can't beat 100 anytime and Free N&W Plus Free SMS for $20 a month 🙂 Gotta love working at Best Buy for some reason.

Are you sure about that?

I know that they tell you not all phones are compatible with their number transfer system.

BTW Krueger81-they probably already disassociated the ISN from your account. Try to make a call, it probably won't go through.

I spent a few days earlier this week manually transferring all my pertinent numbers from an old nokia to a new toshiba vm4050 95 in all so far and I'm about 85-90% done I speculate.

I found it makes the task much less daunting if done while at work and since my work requires me to have a phone so that I may be easily contacted I figure that is the price they pay for making me maintain a cell phone account. 😉
