So I called NetGear's tech support at 10 PM - my wireless router is dropping my connection (wired and wireless) every few hours... I'm put on hold for about an hour before a tech answers... Great, it's one of those techs in India! Now I'm indian myself so I'm not being racist, I just hate having to repeat everything that I say... So, anyways, we go through the usual: reset the router, update the firmware, etc. etc. I gave that a try and, guess what, the router still knocks me off every hour.
I call back again at midnight... I'm put on hold and have to deal with explaining my whole situation again (their system lost my previous information even though I was given a customer number). This time I'm told to downgrade my firmware! I insist that the idea sounds silly to me but I listen to them... Great..... I install the firmware, reset my router, reboot...
One hour later, guess what, my router knocks me off again! Great.. I call them again, at 1:30 AM.. I have to explain my whole situation AGAIN (my new customer ID was invalid) and the guy told me to install the newest firmware! I explained that that is what the first tech told me to do yet he insisted... I begged him to just give me an RMA number since I was about to pass out from exhaustion. So he put me on hold for around 30 minutes... No music, mind you.. Just silence.. Sigh.. So he comes back and tells me that a higher level tech will call me within 24 FREAKING HOURS! I asked him for a more precise estimate and he said that he had no idea! So they expect me to sit by my phone from 3:00 AM today until 3:00 AM tomorrow! I'm more than frustrated and probably will be at school when the fvckers call tomorrow... I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A LINKSYS ROUTER!! AHHH!!!
