GRRR, my satellite receiver just crapped out!

Off I go to the store to get a new one! This is a major crisis!

Out of curiousity, What type of reciever was it?

it's either:

a) crappy canadian bell expressvu

or

b) nice illegal american directv and his card got hit, and the 'store' is some guy who runs a 'grey market' satellite store out of the back out of his house and can reprogram the cards.

What Satellite service do you use?

Ours is an RCA receiver with DirecTV service.

It WAS a Bell ExpressVu receiver, model 2700. (POS)

I replaced it with an ExpressVu model 3100 receiver, and it seems to work much better. (ie. better/faster menus, new features, etc...)

I have a HUGHES GAEB0...it's been great except the remote system is weird. Sometimes when you press a button more than once, it'll keep sending (or recieving) that signal.
