Grrr... does Pandora try to push Taylor Swift on anyone else?

I swear to God Pandora is trying to push this girl's music on me. All because I gave her a thumbs up on a couple of songs. Now I get different songs and I furiously click thumbsdown, but it still keeps suggesting different ones. It'll keep re-suggesting them later.

Same goes for Jack Johnson.

Don't you say a god damn thing about Jack Johnson. He makes the bad thing in my head go away.

It's a conspiracy!

Can you still only use Pandora 5 times a day or something?

Pandora has a 40 hour a month limit in the free version
Slacker is unlimited but you only have 6 skips per hour + there are adds in the free version
Last has no add, no limit and unlimited skipping

Pandora only recognizes the 40hr limit on its web application.

mobile phones & devices like TV widgets do not have the 40hr limit.

You can skip up to 6-songs an hour.

yeah all the limitations on pandora turned me off long ago. I'm sure it's ok if you subscribe or whatever, which is obviously what they want you to do. But, it ain't gonna happen, I'm a cheapskate :D

if you thumbs down an artist 2 times on a station, it will never play that artist on that station again

Unless you also thumbed up a song by that artist which he did.

My problem with pandora is it keeps throwing death metal at me. Think it is because I like Slayer and Pantera. I paid for a subscription from pandora last year which just ran out. I've been playing with the other sites but keep coming back to pandora. Just don't like the other's interfaces.

I would let Taylor push herself on me any day of the week. Twice on Sundays.

Nope, not once. It's weird though; sometimes I use the station I created on Pandora while I'm working around the house - it'll go 6 straight hours without playing a crappy song that I don't like. But on another day, the second song will be some crappy suggestion & it seems that it does nothing but suggest crappy music until I give up.

I listen all the time at work and I have never heard a Taylor Swift song yet.
I do get a ton of Jack Johnson, but that's because I give him the thumbsup.

I stopped using Pandora when it'd pull shit like this.
Start off listening to the music I enjoy. Begins playing shitty pop music on the opposite end of the spectrum.
Click dislike. But it doesn't store that and plays it again, eventually.
Still haven't came across an internet radio that doesn't suck.

uh, no. pandora works perfectly well for me. i type in good bands and about 90% of the time, i get good music that compliments the taste of someone who would like the band i input(ed?). the other 10% are songs from bands that i didn't care for or were new songs i hadn't heard before that i didn't care for.

never have i gotten any taylor swift or anything silly like that.

last.fm is awesome, though. better than pandora overall.
