I just switched to ThunderBird for the built-in spam protection, but I'm having some serious trouble sending outgoing email. I have three separate email accounts and Thunderbird will not send outgoing (SMTP) mail through any of them. I always get an error that says the SMTP server is not accepting incoming connections, or my server settings are wrong.
I've checked and double-checked my server settings and they are right, I'm sure of it. I've tried adding Thunderbird to XP's Firewall exceptions list, tried opening port 25, tried disabling the firewall altogether...no luck
The weirdest part is Outlook Express can still send mail as it always could, which tells me its probably not my router blocking the outgoing ports. What gives?!
I love Thunderbird for everything it has that OE doesn't, but obviously if I can't send outgoing mail I'm going to have to go back...help me
