allright... we got a digital camcorder and we can't hook the thing up to a computer to send the video to a computer.

we tried it through USB but through USB is ONLY the still images. for video we have to go through the IEEE 1394 thingy.

looking it up, it looks like firewire. now i wanna know, since the salesman OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T, do i need to get anything extra to get this to work? firewire card?

computer is a winME although we can also try my win2k box over here.

camera is a samsung scd23

you are going to need a firewire card in order to transfer video from the camera to your computer.. usb just is not fast enough.. so unless you already have a card in your computer (like a sony would) you are going to have to purchase one... and you should slap the salesperson for not telling you.

argh after reading the instruction manual, i've decided the salesman is really stupid.

IEEE 1394 card required, as is the dv cable. *sigh*

(a good salesman might have identified this and pointed it out before.)

yeah they probaly just forgot..... sometimes we do.... i would just pick up a cheap firewire card for around 30 bucks and you should be able to transfer no problem
