i've been having issues with my dsl connection lately. so i use the online chat thinger. well they can't see anything wrong. tells me to call them while the problem is happening.
ok, problems starts again at 9:00 PM EST tonight. Call and sit on hold for 26 minutes before i finally said fvck this and hung up.

how the hell ar they gonna help me when they can't even answer the phone in a timely manner? isn't there some kind of law that says that you should be helped in a timely manner? should we be forced to listen to crappy elevator music for 30 minutes while m ear is growing around my phone?

for instance, i'll beviewing a web page like ATOT. I go to a thread with a link and try to click a link. IE won't go anywhere. try to open a new IE window and it won't connect to any website.

does it with firefox too, so its not an IE problem.

sometimes opening several instances of IE in a row will kickstart it and it will start working again. sometimes i have to boot the pc, sometimes booting the modem works.

what type of pings are you getting ?
do a continous ping and write it to notepad and send it to tech support ?
do a trace route and write it to notepad ?

post your results.

I had a wierd problem once, very similar. You might need a new modem. Who's your provider? What modem do you have?

i'll be honest and say i'm not used to tracert so this may be a stupid question.

do you have sprint dsl also? how is your tracert info the same as mine (almost) if you don't?

Not sure what you are asking...Traceroute simply displays the network hops that your computer goes through to get to a given host. Think of it as listing each of the roads you have to take to get to the mall at the next town over.

right, i understand that, but you posted your results when you ran tracert, correct? your hops are going to the same places as mine. unless you had a sprint connection, wouldn't yours show up as say comcast instead of sprintlink? told you i was dumb when it came to tracert.

just tried tracert to microsoft.com and it timed out after so many hops again, but with at a different server.

Yeah, thats def their problem, call up billing first thing tomorrow tell them that your not satisfied and tech support won't help you. Tell them that you will switch to cable if they don't resolve the problem. You should have an answer the same day :D

i'll be honest and say i'm not used to tracert so this may be a stupid question.

do you have sprint dsl also? how is your tracert info the same as mine (almost) if you don't?

Not sure what you are asking...Traceroute simply displays the network hops that your computer goes through to get to a given host. Think of it as listing each of the roads you have to take to get to the mall at the next town over.

right, i understand that, but you posted your results when you ran tracert, correct? your hops are going to the same places as mine.

just tried tracert to microsoft.com and it timed out after so many hops again, but with at a different server.

Heh, I didn't post any trace route results.

oh sorry, you didn't, it was someone else.

what is this:
3 54 ms 54 ms 343 ms crohmnfd01

that one really bugs me. the ip address changes for that also.

it could be a router.
