GRR Dual Monitors pi$$ing me off!!!

Ok, i have dual monitors i use alot for work purposes. But my work computer is also my home computer so every once and awhile i play games and i notice it is a pain in the butt.

I want to use one display for gameing (1280x1024) FullScreen and in anygame i've played when i move the mouse off the screen by accident it goes to the other screen. Is there a way to make it so the mouse is only focused on that screen still the game ends?

really annoying in RTS and FPS games.

that's strange, that only happens to me for sims2..but then i have been running a 9800 pro and a 9600XT...ie ATI cards.

disabling the other screen in the drivers will solve your problem tho 😉

^What does that mean? I get the exact same problem with Starcraft on a 6600GT .. ie an Nvidia card.

In my experience, it's not brand specific, but more like game specific that some games don't lock one screen when gaming. On my 9800 Pro, I can't recall any game that took me into Windows when I scrolled off the screen; not World of Warcraft, or Warcraft 3 or Doom3 or Far Cry or Halo or Max Payne 1 + 2 ... I think it has to do with the game's age/who developed it more than ATI or Nvidia.

Thanks I'll try that

And the problem is not that it takes you to windows but say in AOM when the mouse travel to the other screen, but if i press a mouse button the game would minimize.

Does the same thing in Half-Life 2 during menus and such. Most FPS does have this problem during game play as the mouse input is in the center of the screen and when you move the mouse it isn't the mouse that moves but the viewport rotating around the screen. So i am assuming most games have this problem with real movement of mouse input.

anyway i'll use the disable monitor technique.

Thanks again
