And being that he has no reason to sugar coat anything, I would take his word over any other news source.

That may be true in his specific case but I find it hard to believe the average soldier doesn't have an interest in making the war seem like a valuable, positive thing. Who wants to fight for nothing? Not many people.

Kind of a pathetic offensive if you ask me if the best you can do is wound 20 and get wiped out.

Sprinkle that with a little firing on and hitting the people whom you're "fighting" for and we've got about as good as they can give.
LOL I'd honestly like to see you people do better.

I can just see it, the redneck right-wingers gather together in pick-up trucks with shotguns etc. to attack the "oppressive" left-wing government. Only to suffer massive casualties and inflict no casualties on the American army. As for most of the Iraqi's being against the insurgency, I don't really think so. That is what you hear in the US media but abroad it is a different story.
Cool, this is the first time I've been accused of being a Right Wing Redneck! Usually it's the Right Wing Reactionaries calling me a Liberal

An understandable interpretation of the dialogue I share with those currently deployed...I know I was certainly guilty of sugar coating things to friends and family when I was active...partially so they would not worry...mostly to add meaning to what was otherwise a waste of time and resources.

Given the nature of our exchanges, and the fact that many have been rather critical and at times skeptical, I tend to believe his accounts as being honest...that, and his thoughts are echoed in conversations with others who have already returned home safely.

Video Released of Rocket Attack on Abu Ghraib
Al-Qaeda in Iraq, led by Abu Musab Zarqawi, released a video clip of their rocket attack on the American base at Abu Ghraib on April 2, 2005. The video depicts the staging of the improvised rocket launcher and the sighting of the target on a dirt road. The ten rocket tubes are supported by sandbags and then all ten fuses ignited using a petroleum puddle. It is difficult to see from the video whether the rockets actually launched or merely detonated in place.

A full translation of the statement and the video clip are provided to our Intel Service members.
