grounding psu and case???

i am putting together a new system and i want it to be QUIET. so when i installed the PSU, i used rubber grommets where it screws into the case and rubber washers to seperate where the metal PSU was resting on the metal case. my question is, does the PSU need to be touching the metal case (for grounding reasons)? or does it not matter? if it does, i should just be able to run a grounding strap (heavy duty wire) from the PSU's metal frame to the case's metal frame, correct?

thanks for any help!

I assume you didn't graunch out the PSU mounting holes in your case and put thru-hole grommets there so there is no contact between the PSU mounting screws and the case. As long as the PSU mounting screws have contact with both the metal of the computer case and the metal of the PSU chassis, they will be adequately grounded together.
