So I have this computer, which is used as a family computer.
I had to send my laptop in to be fixed so I been using the family computer. It really felt sluggish and slow, I checked everything, Virus scan, spyware scan , defrag, start up programs..ect and it did not seem to make things better.
I attributed the slowness due to the older 80gb SATA HD and W7 was installed using the Upgrade feature which brought all the stuff from WinXP
So I was going to reformat it, and decided to open it up and clean the dust out and do some wire management, and to my amazement the micro ATX motherboard was held in by 2 screws! I don't get how the others fell out the spacers were their underneath so I just installed new screws and made sure they were torqued properly.
Well I turned on the computer and instantly everything feels better and quicker, I dont have any benchmarks to prove before and afters but, the computer feels normal now and everything works well.
I suppose the whole mobo was getting dirty power this whole time, and now its properly grounded to the case things seem to be working well.
Yea this is a "cool story" but I thought I should share
