I wish they would call it "The World Trade Center" or maybe even "The place where 5,000 people died"
instead of some glamourized soundbite for the news...
been there before it happened, during it happened, and after it happened. worked across the street from "it". honestly, the site really looks different from what it used to be. it is much more under control.
i was down there and very intersted...i grew up just north of NYC...i went down just when they opened the observatory....didnt get to see it from there though cause there was a 10 block (3hour) wait in 30 degree weather...and my friend said whos office overlooks it, "it looks just like a construction site, anything u can feel by being on the platform u can feel from blocks away"...and i believe him...just being down there was a strong feeling
I live a few blocks from it and things have really been cleaned up a lot down here. Life is pretty much back to normal down here...just a little construction going on down the street.
I'm in Oregon, it would be nice to see though.
OH MY GOD. :disgust: that's like saying that it would be nice to see the chambers where the nazi's gassed the jews to death.
i think i'm more disgusted with tourists that go downtown and take a picture near the "site" with a stupid smile on their face. i want to half kick their ass.
I think I know what the guy in Oregon meant to say..
I have never seen the towers...but i would "like" to go see the scene now....wait can't say I would like to go that means that i enjoy seeing a mass grave.....okay I desire to go to the scene....eww...sounds worse.
Quit taking every word so literally!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I would like to go to New York and see what is taking place now at ground zero. Am I being morbid? No I am not..I think being there and seeing it in person would give it a new meaning and perspective to me versus seeing it on tv. I regret that I didn't see the towers before Sept. 11.
