Grocery Store Question: Do you push your own cart to your car?

When ever I go to the grocery store, which is two times a week. I like to buy a few items each time, so they are more fresh. Anyways, whenever I go to the grocery store I am always ask by an employee if I would like them to push the cart to my car and help me load. I always decline, since I feel men should push their own carts to their car.

Do you push your cart to your car, or do you have the store employee do it?

I live in U-District in Seattle and get asked all the time by the Safeway employees if I would like help out. Of course... getting help out is pointless since I walk to the Safeway and back to where I live.

I've gotten asked in not so rich areas too... ?

Publix offers this. I worked there in HS and we were supposed to ask everyone, even strong men with a few items.

That's for women and old people. It would go against every fiber of my being to ask for help :p

Here they ask everyone. They take your cart when you are done shopping, and unload and ring everything up for you, bag it, and put it back into your cart. When they are done another person will come up and ask if you want them to push it to your car and load it for you. This is for everyone. No one needs to ask.

Hell the closest store to me doesn't even bag my groceries let alone push someone's cart out.

Speaking of which I suppose it's been awhile since I've been to Costco but when did they start doing self check-out?! I went a few days ago and saw a couple aisles for it, but like most self check-outs at 6pm on a weekday the line made it pointless but still how long have they been doing this?

The only stores here that make you unload your cart and bag it your self are for low income shoppers.

I definitely don't live in a rich area and I get asked every time I go to the grocery store. I even avoid the Roth's in town because of how obsessed they are with taking your groceries out to the car.

Yeah, Publix has always asked me, but most other places don't do it. I always refuse nicely though.

They always ask but I never take them up on it.

Maybe I should make them because when they redid the store AND repaved the parking lot they STILL didn't put some fucking cart corrals in and there is nowhere to put your cart after you're done.

So I usually just throw it from wherever I park onto their roof.

Around here, that type of service left when Winn-Dixie packed up & left.

I'm disabled, my back kills me most of the time, but I'm not too lazy to carry my own groceries to the car. Nor too lazy to place the empty grocery cart in it's proper place, some just leaves it where it was emptied at.

When I get in the shape that I can't carry what I buy to the car, I'll just quit going and let my wife do it.

They offer at our grocery store, never took them up on it. I've seen some elderly and disabled people accept the help though.

You should accept their offer and start heading for home with them. I wonder when they would say something, and what they would say.

I've always seen them offer to women and old people around here. They recently started offering to everyone, which I always refuse, of course.

The first couple times I got a little offended. Then I asked if they had to ask everyone. They would/could not answer, but I got the idea it was an affirm.

Double bag and carry it out. You sure you're a male?

I usually use a cart to add items, and when I leave I return the cart to the front of the store and carry the bagged item to my car. Some times I do use the hand basket, even they ask if I would like them to carry the bags to my car for me.
