Grocery shopping tomorrow, what should I buy?

Seems like every time I go to the grocery store I end up paying more and coming home with less. I'm trying to stay away from junk food even though its proven to be difficult. I dont really 'cook', but I can learn if I have to. I wont have a microwave for another month or so, so its gotta be stove/oven compatible.
Most trips I come back with the same ole stuff (bread, sandwich meats, top ramen, tortilla's, tv dinners, etc).
So I'm turning to you guys for suggestions. Please share your lists and/or any good recipes.
Remember I am a student on a budget, so lets keep it cheap.

quaker oatmeal in the big container- the 5 minute stuff tastes better than the 1 minute stuff- the downside is the 4 minute difference.

Ramen noodles and Frozen pizza

Frozen pizza is very good, gotta find it on sale though. At least like 4 for $10. Tony's or Tombstone.

I'm getting so sick of Ramen noodles, ugh, even my beloved chicken flavor tastes so boring.

Soy milk, whole wheat bread, turkey lunch meat, and some juice 😛 At least, that's my weekly shopping list 😛

How do you cook oatmeal? Lol, I haven't eaten the stuff since I was a little kid, forgot how my mom made it. Do you need a microwave? Unfortunatley that is the only thing holding me back as far as what I can buy.

This is what I bought tonight
a dozen of eggs = $.69
Roman brand bread = $.4 ($.55 coupon DOUBLE)
a box of crackers = $1 (after $1 coupon)
a small pack of boneless ribs = $2.5

come out about $4.5.

don't waste your money on junk foods and soft drink.

Boneless/Skinless Chicken breast
BBQ Sauce
Sargento grated Mexican-style cheese
Red onions
Flour tortillas
Lettuce (in those ready-pack bags)
Croutons
Caesar Salad dressing
Parmesan cheese

^^ With the ingredients above, you can make:

Cheese Quesadillas
Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas
Caesar salad
Caesar salad wrap
Chicken Caesar salad wrap!

🙂

Ramen, rice, chef boyardee stuff if you like any of it. Sometimes I'll go for frozen vegetables and some chicken to stirfry up. It's pretty cheap and makes a few meals worth. Pastaroni, cans of biscuits. I'm lazy so I generally go for single serving stuff that cooks in a couple minutes, or stuff that will make several meals worth.

Just walk around the outside of the supermarket, that's where the healthy stuff is. If you walk down the isles, you'll get trapped into buying crap. Everything you need is in the outer ring. Every time you go to the grocery just think "Brown eye diet" and you'll be fine.

You're welcome. It's actually easy to make those, too. Just boil the chicken in water with a few shakes of salt. Once it cools, cut it to size and store in a plastic container (ziplock / glad / tupperware), then place in your fridge. Whenever you're hungry, just pull-out the pre-cooked chicken and put the ingredients together 🙂

Mmmm... Now, I'm hungry!

How long should I let it boil?

Until it's cooked 😀

If you're unsure, get a sample out, cut it, and if it's cooked through and through, then you can stop boiling. Otherwise, keep going. Fully-cooked chicken breast is yummy anyway.

You just need some water, maybe a little bit of salt, and a pot of some sort, and a heating element of any kind.
