So i just bought a new hardrive to just start from scratch, i installed drivers and Windows 7, and League of legends. Now all of the sudden i hear a sort of scratching noise randomly, and i start up a game of league of legends and im in for approx 3 seconds, and the monitor loses signal, and i hear that scratching noise suddenly, then it stops. i have tried re seeding it, and cleaning all the fans in my computer, and reinstalling the drivers. Ive had this computer for almost 2 years, custom built, and never had this problem. i can watch youtube videos, but not play League. i havent yet to try any other games tho. if you have any help, please comment.

My video card is a Gigabyte 560 ti

Scratching noise from the HDD? Use a program like CrystalDiskInfo to access S.M.A.R.T. data of the drive and see if everything is OK.

Use FurMark to test if your VGA works properly.

Did you also clean the GPU fans? When I hear the word grind I immediately think fans. It's possible a GPU fan went out and the upgrade timing is just a coincidence.

Yeah, I'm going to go with BigChickenJim. Me thinks the video card may have some issues, specifically the fan. I'd turn on the PC and then check the GPU fan. LoL would put more load on your GPU and thus cause the fan to start ramping up. If it is hitting a snag (this grinding noise you hear) the GPU is probably shutting down to prevent damage (thus you lose signal.)
