For the longest time I've been looking to get ahold of one, and everywhere I go they don't carry them. You can get them from some online stores, but none that seem to ship to Canada. No matter, I'll keep looking.

In the meantime, I've noticed that they seem to be labelled as "bacon presses" on most sites, and quite often are in the shape of a pig or something stupid like that. I've always used the standard square shape, usually 8-12oz weight like that, and called it a grilling iron, as it was always used in grilling meat or sandwiches, and it looked like a dang iron.

So which is correct, bacon press or grilling iron? And what could I use as a substitute if I can't find a good one?

Thinking about branding the kids? Good idea, don't want them to forget where they came from.

EDIT: Ahh.. grilling iron and bacon press come up with rather different products via google.

I always use Yahoo, grilling iron didn't bring up very much at all, other than crap like George Foreman style grills. I'm from the Northeast US originally, maybe it's a regional thing?
