Do people actually refer to briquette as charcoal? Maybe that is the problem in that some people hear charcoal and their brain says briquette?

yes id say the vast majority does

That would explain the issue. People are thinking briquette when they hear charcoal. I would hate it too if it is briquette.

Fucking illiterates.

it is charcoal. but it is not lump charcoal (wich is what people SHOULD use)

Actually I think I'm self owned. Watch the videos I posted. I thought they burned the wood first, but NOPE. It's just wood, coal and lime.

So it isn't really charcoal.

Wikipedia says it is, and if you can't trust Wikipedia, who can you trust?

err, it can be made with some charcoal as an ingredient, but charcoal it ain't. It's a reconstituted product, usually from left over scraps.

First, let's define the terms:

Must be a U.S. thing. In most countries i've been to, Barbeque can mean anything that's cooked over flame, be it charcoal, wood, glowing red hot stones or gas.

that's because they learned the word from yankees.
