Now I am saying to myself, yea it's pretty obvious that grilling is preferred by about EVERYONE. But before you vote, I am asking as a whole process, which do you prefer?

By 'process' I mean for grilling, you have to put the briquettes in the pyramid, lighter fluid on it, light it, wait about 20-30 mins for it to gray over, spread them out, put the metal grill on top of the area, then start cooking. Cooking on the grill for the most part takes longer than broiling. Then don't forget cleaning out the pit of the grille afterwards. THIS POLL IS FOR NON-GAS GRILLS

By broil process I mean put the metal grill in the oven to the top, turn on broil and let it preheat for 5 mins, then start cooking. Then cleaning up is just washing the dishes.

So which do you prefer in this case, and I am not talking about which tastes better, but just if you had time to do both which would you do and why?

P.S. I AM TALKING ABOUT COOKING STEAKS, NOT HAMBURGERS, HOT DOGS, ETC!

EDIT: LOL I JUST REALIZED TOPIC ERROR, Sorry :p

I can get my grill heated and cook a 1" steak in under 15 minutes.

Faster than broiling and tastes better.

I AM TALKING ABOUT COOKING STEAKS

When I'm spending serious money for meat, it's going on the grill. I don't even consider it much of a chore, and I for damn sure don't use lighter fluid! All I need to know, is when does the finished meat need to be on the table. I light the coals 45 minutes before that, and go about my business till I start cooking.

Cleanup ain't shlt. If I broil anything in the oven, I have to clean the broiler pan, as well as the spatter on the glass. I'd say that's a helluva lot more trouble than just closing the vents on the grill!

Actually broiled my first steaks the other night. Loved it. If I had a grill, I'd probably go that route.
