Griffin PowerMate.

I'm considering getting this cool little gadget, as I could configure it to perform certain actions in Photoshop (such as zoom in/out, etc). Many Mac users use it with video editing software, wich is something in wich it's potential is very appreciated.

Does anyone around here has it?

BUY IT! I don't own one, but I've read numerous times you can use it to play paddle games in Mame. That sh!t would own for Arkinoid, oh and my favorite knob game of all time, Tempest!

I have a plethora of programmable doohickies on my keyboard that can probably do most of what that can do at no extra cost.

Here is basicly the same thing, only better with programable macros.

holy crap that second link OWNS! I'd love one, I bet with that sucker I could Photochop 10x more efficent, and make much more realistic chopped pictures. Too bad it cost so much. I would jump on it in a second otherwise 🙁

I've got a powermate and am quite pleased with it. It's got that 'heavy' factor going for it. True, if you've got a multimedia keyboard it's kinda overkill, but it certainly makes a nice shuffle for scrubbing video and such.

If you _do_ like them, one downside of the windows version driver is that it doesn't support multiple units like the Mac version does. There's even a company that makes an acrylic sled to hold an array of powermates.

I got mine used off of ebay for around 30 bucks shipped. One thing to keep in mind if you are the least bit picky about colors and such.. the new retail models have a milky white cord (to match the mac, no doubt), whereas the older models have a braided silver cord.
