You know what? I REALLY want to kick your ass, you smarmy sack of sh1t. Consider this my last RESPONSE to your crap
Note to self: Hardwarrior has a thin skin and is easy to provoke.
You don't know me. How can you make a statement like that woth any sort pf accuracy? The truth is that I don't behave like an ass towards people for no reason. Why should I "feel" good when someone treats me in that fashion? The first thing CAD every said to me was a personal attack based on what he THINKS my age is. Why am I "thin skinned" because I don't like that sort of behavior from a perfect stranger?
Well, based on my highly active 4 year scientific survey of AT forums, I've never seen anyone threaten to kick somebody's ass for so little. Sure, we could get BOBDN to go crazy and threaten us after 10-15 posts of calling him a slobbering idiot. You? Just gotta call you a widdle baby boy. Wait till Corn get's a hold of you, CAD is pretty polite
Anyone else been conducting an ass-kicking threatening survey?
So, because you see relentlessly childish ad hominen attacks as "so little", I should to? Like I said, without giving too much away, you don't know me or my situation. Let's just say I'm not unique in my responses. Most of the people I grew up with are the same way, only they make no pretense of being reasonable. If CAD tried the sort of BS he does here to my face I WOULD try my best to hurt him. "Why am I "thin skinned" because I don't like that sort of behavior from a perfect stranger?" Can you please address this for me? It's a valid question.
Since you asked so nicely. The internet represents a physical barrier between the participants, keeping them separated and mostly anonymous. For the most part, there are no repercussions for any type of behavior. Words like "troll" and "flame" were invented on the internet. Basically the absence of civility on the internet is a given. It's own culture, you could say.
In this culture, I've seen some quite ferocious attacks. I've been the target of a few of them even. I might have, on a bad day when my nerves were frazzled and my usual decorum failed, issued a few of my own.
From those general standards, the insult you perceived from CAD would rank very low on the scale of attacks. Hence the Thin Skin comment.
Answer your question?
PS You might want to consider anger management classes, if someone calling you "Junior" or the equivalent drives you into a physically violent rage.
You're surprised that I asked without calling you a moron first? Interesting. Anyway, true enough. Which is why most product forums have moderators to avoid the sort of endless arguments that make discussions like this turn fruitless and sour. It should be obvious, even in your complex world, that picking at each other like little girls adds nothing to the topic.
As have I, and none of them were worth the power used for transmition. It took me a log time to figure that out, because at heart I like to argue. What happened for me is that I simply got tired of trying to find new and creative ways to damage and/or belittle people I didn't even know. 20+ years of mean-spirited debating made me feel this way. I simply don't think talking to people like asses (unless sorely provoced) makes anything better. If I understand you correctly, you think I'm wrong for feeling this way.
Again, it may indeed be okay for people to behave like this towards you, it isn't for me. That's the way it is, and I'm left wondering why it matters to you so much the way >I< react to what >I< perceive as rotten, childish behavior. I haven't singled you out for counseling, yet. Why do you think I require this service from you?
Completely, and I hope I was able to supply a bit of clarity for you as well.
PS Perhaps. Here's some unsolicited advice for you as well: You might want to consider that some people might not be interested in emulating your behavior, or adopting your perspective. While you're at it, you might also want to develop an understanding of a situation prior to sticking your face into it.
