I downloaded the Grid demo last night and it's impossible to play with a keyboard and I didn't see any options to change controls to a gamepad.

is there a place to specify to use a controller? I didn't see it.
I saw you could set your key mappings and I tried to do it with my controller but nothing happened.
 
It supports game pads, and not just the xbox360 one. Look around in the option menu again, think you have hit shift somewhere to get to an extra menu.
 
Yeah. It recognized my 360 controller out of the box, and automatically mapped it to mirror the 360 version. Even the menus and HUD changed to reflect the fact that I was using a 360 controller.

It might be a little more complicated with a 3rd party controller, but I'm sure it's possible.
