Grey Market items

Whats the difference in a US edition camera and a grey market or international version? They just made cheaper?

Cheaper parts, no warranty.

Gererally they are the same, but you got to watch the warrenty. Nikon won't fix a grey market camera whether its under warrenty or not, Canon used to fix everything the rest I'm not sure of. So it all depends who you buy from and who does there service. Later todd

so does anyone know if a sony warranties grey market items in say the UK?

Unsure you really need to check with sony about their warranty. Most of the stuff back home comes with an International warranty.

FYI grey market items are not illegal they are just imported at a cheaper price from markets where the item there is priced cheaper. Parts are generally exactly the same.
