That's too bad. I was never a fan of 'southern rock', but the Allman Bros were different. Great band

Four of the original six from that album have passed. :(

Great song, love those live long jam tunes. Since it's rainy outside been dancing around the house listening to them. I never really considered them southern rock that was Lynyrd Skynyrd territory.

Here's a half hour + allman brothers song the ultimate jam song. I doubt it ever got played on the radio. :)

My second favorite band, Duane was the rock and Gregg was the roll.
R.I.R&R.

Damn, very sad to hear. I last saw the Allman's ~98 or 99 with Derek Trucks. Gregg hadn't yet had the liver transplant, I think, and seems to have had a bit of renewal of life after that and was doing really well for a few years, but damn that hepatitis. :(

Funny - I have Mountain Jam playing right now. Opened up ATOT, saw this thread, and here we are :D

The entire Fillmore East album is incredible.

RIP Gregg :(

Agree, back when it came out I was living in Mass and LATFE was THE album to have, I think it just blew the door's off of anything else at the time (and Mass is where Areosmith hails from). I live in Daytona now where the band started up as the "Allmond Joys" but had to change their name due to the candy bar. They played at a dinky bar on main St. called "The Wreck" but I got here after they had made it big. Greg played many times at the Ocean center a 15,000 st venue and always sold it out.
