I wonder how he launches that big one. Is there a lift? A crane? Where is it? How does it work?

holy smokes man. a boat that carries other boats?! now thats what you call showing off 😛

[jealousy] what a rich prick [/jealousy]

I wonder if Greg Norman's boat will fit inside Larry Ellison's new yacht, the "Rising Sun." It's a 452 foot $200 million monster.

I saw this on the TLC channel also. I think they said that it can be out at sea for 240 days before refueling is needed. They also showed a state of the art sailboat owned by some guy who made it big in Sil Valley.

That is the same ship. Norman rents it out?

After some Googling, it appears that it had been sold to a charter company. Or at least someone who rents it.

I wonder what it costs to charter it?

Although I suppose if I have to ask.........

EDIT, Info on the sale.

I saw his ship on a program on either the History Channel or Discovery Channel. It was called "Super Ships" or somthing to that effect. Of course his canoe was #1

I would guess so. That thing would be a PIG to maintain. And having a crew would mean NO privacy.

Does anyone remember a thread maybe about 3-4 years ago about a webpage detailing a guy who had two yaghts and went from one F1 event to another along with all the exotic cars he drove once he got on land? Lotsa babes too.

They're talking about Larry Ellison's Sayonara, a 78' carbon fiber hulled sailboat.

I saw a yacht recently in Newport, RI that supposedly belonged to Ellison. Now, I'm no expert, but it was the biggest damned yacht I had ever seen. It had smaller boats on the back and had a bridge like a battleship's.

Yeah, I remember that really freaked me out. He was very young, and overweight, and had supposedly made the money as some kind of hacker. He was living like a king.

the thing has a f'in decompression chamber on it!!!! 90% of the hospitals in the US don't have decompression chambers, and this guy has one on his damn boat!

WTF, thats almost the cost of an Airbus A320 passenger jet! :Q

He already owns a 737 and some nice hellicopters to get him places. That boat made me crap myself. He has a movie theater on his boat, and other boats on his boat that can be lauched from it?! thats like wtfomg!#!@$!!!!

Holy smokes! I knew he had an impressive yacht, but when you guys mentioned it carried "other boats," I was picturing very small craft, not a 42' fishing boat! That thing is more like a Bond villain's lair than a privately-owned boat.

Yeah I thougth they were talking about rescue boats or at most a few seado's lol.

Might have been the "Katana". It's WAY WAY smaller than his new one.
