I just signed up (obviously) at the invitation of aigomorla. He and I have known each other for a while. My regular forum has been XtremeSystems.

Like aigomorla, I am heavily into water cooling, and strongly performance driven. I have been water cooling for quite a while.

Anybody with any questions at all, please feel free to send me a message or or prompt my attention.

Regards.

welcome indeed, good to have a few more experienced people around, we just need to get some more air experts around, I can't be the only one with loads at less than 20K above ambient with extreme overclocks.

ROFL....

well if i become mod... you'll see a lot of XS people coming in.

Of course im trying to make them come even tho im not... We got some great additions, like marci. :D

Also nol has been on AT.

Nol is a phase expert, marci has to be a water expert, even more so then me.

But yes, iany is a friend of mine in XS. He's geared on performance driven systems = or GREATER then my spec. :D

Yes its possible to have a sytem greater then mine. Look at iany. LOL.

Yeah, I've read a few of nol's posts on XS in playing around with the AC's I've got laying aroudn and trying to figure out what to do with them. I love having maufacturers reps around wherever possible, I wonder if we could talk tony into joining AT? Travis is still around from DFI, I think.

:p to that. DFI and OCZ are my surrogate brands. Been using them for too long with too good of results to look back now. I can understand being more centralized to one area of a company though. There was an OCZ rep on DFI-street back when in was DFI not DIY that was really helpful, wonder what's been going on over there of late.

It happens still on XS.

Theres OFFICAL OCZ threads where you can post, and OCZ reps come and answer.

And yeah i remember those days. I couldnt get my expert to boot up with my plat rev.2 for the life of me, because of hella picky settings. I think it was tony who helped me out the first run on dfi street.

Ok, my memory isn't as bad as we all think, I would have sworn it was tony till you said he doesn't like dealing with RAM. Luckily I did ok with my plat rev2's as they had been out for a while. It was the specially binned DFI 625 VX I had problems with. To this day I cannot get that stuf over about 230fsb on my ultra-d. my plat rev 2's run 550 all day and night though.

i dont know if he doesnt like them for sure, but i rarely see him talk about them on leasure, but i could of sworn the dfi street guy who helped me was tony :shurg:. :p

He's a crazy extreme ocer with chilled liquid setups running at -15C. :p

Tony is? nice! I wonder if he's in line for one of their phase units, lol, one of the first 10. I've been very much considering a chilled liquid set-up. I've got those two AC units and it would be just as easy to build a chilled liquid set-up with one of them as regular water, and even a little cheaper as I already have them and I wouldn't need any radiators. Get a fully submersible pond pump and mill myself a set of blocks, just for the sake of saying I milled them. If I'm gonna do all that work though, i may as well build it into a phase rig, accept I don't have my handling license for refrigerants anymore. I was just talking to a buddy of mine the other day about building a LN set-up for S&G, I've got a local supplier that will deliver 100 gallon chambers of the stuff for dirt cheap compared to what a phase or chilled liquid set-up is going to cost me to run, especially in summer here in AZ. I've got all the know how to build a re-circulating LN set-up that's about 65% efficient, just be a matter of getting my hands on a compressor capable of handling the nitrogen. I seriously doubt these AC compressors I have could pull it off, even at 2/3rd HP each and run inline I don't think they could handle it.

define extreme over clock.....
Before I went core2duo I had my p4 3.2 EE overclocked to 4.6 stable on just air.....
Then I went down to 4.4 and the I am currently sitting at 4.2!!!

I have over 40+ heatsinks that I have used every single one of them for at least 2 weeks on all 3 of my riggs.

I mainly collect heatsinks and am fixing to start messing with my current rigg e6600 core 2 duo.....

Peace!!

40%+ with anything pre-C2D I think qualifies. Obviously thats going to have to be pretty fluid of a term, especially with C2D as the lower end, like 21X0 chips are doing 60% atleast with ease and on up from there, with 45nm chips I think later stepings will be doing 4.4-4.5 with air and 5ghz will be withing the reach of phase or chilled liquid guys. I think the easiest was to describe and extreme overclocker is to simply say: anyone pushing their system as far as they can without regaurd for longevity, for the strict purpose of the highest performance possible. Sound fair?
