:)
I hit it a gig. Right now, I'm running a duron at 10x100 on a kt7 using a fop32-1 for cooling. Running at 1.85 volts. I'm going for more. :)

Well, 1050 was a no go and required a cmos clearing. I lowered the voltage to 1.825 though and its tearing through prime95 with nary a hitch. My temp at 100% is 47c. I'm going to lower voltage again to 1.8 and see how it does. BTW, this is a duron 600...I wish I had written the week number down for you guys.

its doing a gig at 1.75 now. Still running fine. I don't see why it couldn't handle 1050 though.

loogie, i'm hoping to get what you're getting any day now.. i'm currently at 900mhz. i'm just deciding which fan I should get. Should I get a fop32 like you or should I wait for the alpha? anyone else? Is your fop32 loud? does anyone know how the fop32 compares to an alpha with a sunon? thanks.

I haven't tried an alpha yet, so I don't know how the numbers compare. The fan is kinda loud, but I don't really mind. The clip on the fop is pretty hard to get down, you need a screwdriver. I don't think that the tradeoff between the alpha and fop are that much, perhaps a degree or two difference. HardOCP has some heatsink type shootouts. If you look at the review for the Millenium hsf on the website as well as the reviews for socket coolers, they give some temperature comparisons. Also, at www.2cooltek.com, 2cool does some of his own tests as well. I'm too lazy to dig up the links right now, but they should be fairly easy to find.

from my own experiences...amd cpu has it's limitation regarding the max cpu speed you can get..and it's a lot more voltage sensitive than heat sensitive...

i had a duron 650 before, and no matter how hard i tried..the max i can get out of it is 950...and although it will boot at 1000, it will not load windows...and that's at max voltage of 1.85v...(switched from stock hsf to fop32-1 to fop3-1 ++, and finally alpha) although better cooling will give you better protection from cpu damage..it will not help you oc all that much..
