Mostly health issues have kept me away from doing a lot of the things that I enjoy and also this forum. I'm on the mend now so I thought I'd check in.
Last time I was here I had a lot of questions concerning my next computer and did a lot of research here.
Anyway this is the build I'm working.
Lian Lee PK-7 case: This is a great case. Every thing just fits in perfectly. The optical drives slide in easily and are held in by a couple of pins that click into place. An extra screw or two will fix it in place for traveling. The MB tray is released by a couple of thumb screws. One caution, the HD bays could have been deburred a bit better. I picked up a small cut and a metal splinter. Considering the quality of everything else, I'm happy with it.
Gigabyte EP45-UD3R Motherboard: Thank you Anandtech
Corsair HX650 Power supply: My first modular power supply. All the cables you need are in a slick velcroed, nylon bag. First class.
Intel e8500 cpu.
Xigmatec s1283 cpu cooler with Xigmatec bolt through kit. Works perfectly with none of the push pin frustrations.
Corsair Dominator 2x2gig of 1066 ram.
BFG 260 oc vid card.
Asus optical drives and burner
2x Seagate 250 gig hd.
Scythe Kaze Master fan controller
Thats every thing for now I have a few more items and software I have to get.
Operating system will be Vista Home Premium 64 bit oem.
Cheers
