I've been reading the forums for a bit now but as im a compulsive lurker i havent posted anything till now. I have to say these forums are a great help and Ive taken advantage of a couple hot deals ive seen and am quite pleased.
My question is this: I live near a Fry's (cue booing from people that dont) but not all that near it, its a good 45+ min traffic-ridden drive to get there. I see some great deals in the adds but the drive there is just too much of a pain to bear most days, especially since if i go after work i get joyous rush hour traffic which adds another 20-30 min each way to the drive. How successful have people here been at getting other stores (theres a BB, CC and Compusa all 3 of which i pass on my normal drive home) to match Fry's advertised prices?
The specific deal im wondering about at the moment is the combo deal advertised 7/5 for a xp 2800+ and a mobo for 119. However, the brand/model of the mobo isnt listed. Would i still be able to PM that at one of the 3 stores closer to me? Are there issues with the deal being 1 per customer? I know that probably some of this info is listed in the disclaimer for the given stores PM policies but those are often confusingly worded and not always followed to the letter. Anyone care to share their experiences with getting other stores in the SF Bay area or elsewhere to match Fry's prices?

I have a co-worker who drives down that way to visit her boyfriend on a regular basis, mebe i can cajole her into making a quick side-trip on the way. Wont have time to go there tomorow and by the time i do deal will likely be gone.
