Greeting Cards...

My girlfriend is upset that I threw away the first birthday card that she gave me almost immediately after reading it. Do you guys read it, chuck it, or savor then trash it?

They are cute; I keep them for a bit then trash them. Unless there is something mushy personal inside, then I'll probably keep it as a memento.

I keep them pretty much forever but I'm a pack rat and keep just about anything.

I've debated this in my mine... once. Then I threw the card away. Greeting cards don't have 5000 page essays explaining the meaning of life and the universe in them, they can be read and chucked.

That reminds me I haven't even open the ones I got for xmas yet.

I keep the ones that are meaningful to me (from my boyfriend or a close friend), and I keep others around for a week or so and then throw them out. I like having something to help me look back and remember a specific moment.

since high school, i've kept every xmas, birthday, thank you, etc. card i've gotten. in all thats only about 10 or so, but its not hard to just put them in a folder somewhere.. and they might be fun to look back on down the road.
