The guy in the video is undoubtedly a total douche. And regardless of how much he falsified, the guy has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is willing to go to extreme lengths in order to succeed. He went overboard and underwater, but if he toned it down, and didnt lie so damn much, he might have gotten the job.

If I needed a salesman, or some other position where a combination of confidence, sleaziness, douchiness and persuasiveness made a man a success, I'd hire him any day.

As a financial analyst...not so sure.

you know what else would have helped? if he wouldnt have lied.

No, it isn't. UBS is launching an investigation into how his app and video was released into the wild. He has sent cease and decist letters to people. This is an actual application to an IB job.

Unless you got proof otherwise...

Well, while I do not have proof one way or another, he could easily have done this as a hoax by himself; there was no need for UBS to be in on the joke. He could have "leaked" the video himself to create publicity. In light of the "lonelygirl" youtube revelations and other things of that ilk, I would guess that this guy is in fact pulling a smart, calculated joke that will most likely land him a job with some ad firm.

Turds for brains rarely get into yale in the first place.

Yeah, Yale graduates are typified by our svelte, extremely articulate, and positively insanely intelligent President who absolutely didn't get into Yale based upon his family connections or money, as is the case with very few students who get "early in" application and admittance to most Ivy Leagues (some of which are now stopping that practice).

You are right, privileged and rich children are rarely dumb.

I'd say that generalizing on an entire population based upon the supposed, and admittedly, quite apparent stupidity of a single individual is quite dumb. Any individual who would do this very might have turds for brains themselves.

You got a pretty big chip on your shoulder there. Ivy Leagues may accept many students for questionable reasons, and every single graduate is unlikely to be a genius, some might very well be pretty damn clueless, but you're off your rocker if you think theres no qualification for ivy leagues other than having rich parents.

It's very well possible that he could have linked the video himself, but I doubt it will land him a job because of liability. He has plagiarized on many accounts and severely misrepresented his "charities" which can very well have legal consequences. An ad firm probably appreciates some sense of creativity, but potentially breaking the law is a severe liability in regards to offering him some job.

i think he might have meant it as the video is a hoax, not the leak.

While I agree with you as far as trying to be a salesman, there's a big difference between bending the truth (for instance: instead of "secretary" writing "resource admin") and completely making up stories. Lieing outright on a resume is completely unethical and should generally get the person banned from being accepted at any institution. i fully admit to embellishing my resume as any smart applicant would do. However, I never completely lied about the jobs I was in or my activities.
