Why would anyone laugh? John Lennon was one of the greatest musical artists of all time. And Paul McCartney is also good.

Here are some I think are the greatests:

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
The Pretender - Jackson Browne
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Wake up Time - Tom Petty
Vocalise - Rachmoninoff
Rhapsody on a Theme - Rachmoninoff
Rach 3 - Rachmoninoff

also, i like:

P.I. Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite",

"Les Toreadors", "Habanera" and "Dance Boheme" from George Bizet's "Carmen",

Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance"

"Estuans interius (Burning Inside)" and "In taberna quando sumus (When we are in the tavern)" from Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" ("O Fortuna" is great too 😉)

Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

"O Sole Mio" (dunno origin, pick your favourite performer)

Ravel's "Bolero"

much more...

Bach - Double Violin Concerto Vivace, Concerto No. 5
Beethoven - 5th
Holst - Mars Bringer of War
John Williams - Jurassic Park Theme

Metallica - One, Call of Ktulu, Orion, Fade to Black
Zao - Ravage Ritual, To Think of You is to Treasure an Absent Memory, Man in Cage Jack Wilson, Violet
Extol - Storms of Disilussions
Guns n Roses - November Rain
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Toruniquet - Erratic Palpitations of the Human Spirit

Charlie Daniels Band - Dueling Banjos

Joe Satriani - A Piece of Liquid
Yngwie Malmsteen - Instrumental Institution

Aaron Neville - Crazy Love
Van Morrison - Moondance
Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water
Beatles - Yesterday

I have more, but it will take a while to come up with them all. Note that I am basing these songs/pieces on beauty and/or difficulty in playing them correctly. For example, Metallica's songs are hard to describe as "beautiful," but they are very talented musicians and not many people can play as fast or as uniqely as they can.

Hmm, well, here are some of my personal votes, depending on your genre of taste...

Hector Berlioz "Symphonie fantastique" (Just a great, great piece, you can feel his insanity growing)
John Rutter's "Requiem" (One of my favorite versions of Requiem, partial to this one as I sang it with my gf😉)
Benjamin Brittan's "Peter Grimes" (The most brilliant English Opera I've ever experianced)
Any work by Stephan Sondheim ("Into the Woods" is awesome, as is "Assassins")

Hmm, as far as more modern, I believe that Radiohead "OK Computer" is worth a listen, as well as most of Dave Matthews.
