Greatest college football game ending ever?

Vince Young against USC.

There was simply more at stake against better talent that was hyped unlike anything ever seen before in the history of college football.

I wouldn't say this was the greatest, because it wasn't a huge bowl game, but the end of the Wisconsin vs Minnesota game last year was fricken amazing.

Link for anybody who cares.

USC vs Notre Dame

My heart stopped for 2 seconds when Leinhart "fell" backwards into the endzone. This play followed the play where Leinhart tried to jump into the endzone and had the ball headbutted out of bounds.

this was a good game...but this doesn't even come close to the cal/stanford miracle and the band

Come on, how does VINCE YOUNG in the Rose Bowl compare to this. I mean what he pulled was just an outstanding play. It wasn't jaw dropping, it wasn't HOLY SH!T start screaming.

Same with USC v. Notre Dame. It was about referees, and calls, etc, but you're likely to see repeats of this.

Both of those situations you are likely to see happen sometime in your lifetime. Maybe 2 - 3 times.

But Cal Stanfurd? You're never going to see it EVER-again. It was World War III. I mean people will tell you how crazy it was when we beat USC back in 2003 and when they stormed the field after a triple OT, but the 1982 Big Game was many many times crazier....

I was at that game. That was the most intense football game I have ever seen. The stadium was so loud the entire time, it was just unreal...

As sad as it makes me, I agree.

THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!!!! 😀

That having been said I remember the Flutie throw like it was yesterday. My brother and I were watching the game and my mom came in and said "He's gonna chuck it up there for a touchdown, watch this..." Then he did it... her jaw hit the floor. Priceless...

No way. USC / Notre Dame was better just from that season and nothing can stack up to Cal / Stanford or Flutie.

That whole game rocked. One of the best college games ever played. The thing that everyone misses about that final play is that it was the kickoff after a patented, last minute, Elway drive FTW(!).

(Y'know... untill the kickoff)

Elway blew that game away for Stanford since he called timeout too early, thereby insuring that the field goal would not be the last play of the game.

Anyways, I say Cal/Stanford but I will say that the Nebraska/Michigan last play would have surpassed that play if Michigan would have scored.

That was the greatest day of endings ever. That was the same day as Notre Dame-USC and WVU-Louisville. What a great day.
