Just like everyone else, money is tight. Food prices are outrageous. With that said, do you buy the "Great Value" brand of food a beverage when grocery shopping? I did a gallon of Great Value milk (instead of my Braum's) and it taste like pig feet. Anyone else?

Since I do my grocery shopping mostly at Wal-Mart, that is where it can be found. I think...

A gallon of what?

I'll get great value or sam's choice on most everything except:

coffee (I don't drink much, but I like the good stuff)
some packaged meats (but the great value brats are good)

etc. for the most part, it is just as good.

Great Value = WalMart brand, no?

I don't typically go grocery shopping at WalMart..but if I did, my brand choice depends on what I'm buying.

Why would it taste different? A lot of it is made by the same companies that make the name brand stuff.

GV milk is just like colemans. Maybe you got a bad gallon? Check the date? I'll buy whatever is on sale. BTW, many times you can get milk at Wal-greens for MUCH cheaper. It is 3.29 in my area now.

Braums premium milk is much better and is usually cheaper to me....but it's kinda out the way to get it. Reason #1 for going GV milk.

Never had Braums.

Best milk I ever had was out of the cow and chilled over night. It is a shame you can't buy milk that way.

$3.29 isn't cheap.

I buy the Great Value brand for everything except sauces and spices. For everything else, I can't taste any difference.

I always buy the "generic" brands at the supermarkets. Very rarely any difference in taste.

$3.29 is dirt cheap to me. The store brands here in Austin are a minimum of $3.49 and if you want organic, you jump up to $5/gal.

You really are a moron. As was mentioned previously almost all of the grocery store branded stuff is produced by the same manufactures as the non-grocery stored branded items.
