Megatoners reseller rating is not as stated above: It is 3.13 6 Month and 4.13 lifetime. Don't know where you got your numbers. These are as of 5 minutes ago. If you read their review they are poor. I had read good things about them on AT and recently tried them in spite of RS ratings. That was a poor decision. Awful service! Awful product. Shipped loose in a plastic bag. Ink leaked on several. Cart size not same as original and did not fit correctly. Print quality terrible. Did not charge freight correctly as listed on their website. Freight charge does not show on checkout. About as bad as you could make it if you tried. Read the 3 pages of complaints on RS ratings before you order!

I got the ratings from RR.com, as you can see their have only been 23 reviews one of which was posted yesterday (and it was very low) and it bought the lifetime rating from just over 5 to 4.13.

It's true that USA made ink is naturally better in terms of quality. Price wise, it's slightly more expensive but still a GREAT deal less than the genuine cartridges.

I sell some very high quality USA ink at very reasonable prices. If you'd like to know how they are made in comparison to the Chinese ink, scroll down to "our-compatible ink" at the bottom: http://www.swiftink.com/about.php

Many sites are selling the chinese ink for the same price I sell the USA-made ink. However, the USA made ink is much much better, and forumlated by a P.h.D. chemist which works on site.

You don't have any ink for my Epson R200 listed :(

WOW I made a thread like this awhile back mentioning about megatoners and got slammed with thread craps and flaming all over me. Has people changed since then and are actually acting nice for a change????

I have used megatoners exclusivly for my Canon I450 printer. I bought 50 bucks worth over 2 years ago and I STILL have ink left from my $50 purchase. The printer when I had it was used everyday and now i gave it to my son and it is used still everyday with megatoner ink. I have done photos with it and everything in between and for little over $1 per cart I couldnt ask for more when canon ink was over $10 per cart.

Now I have a Epson R200 printer and went and bought ink right away from who else megatoners yet again. For $52 I got 3 of each color. Thats 18 total for the lazy. Epson ink is $50 for 1 set of colors. I havent yet had to change the original ones out but I am sure I will still be happy with them.

And as my last order it came right away within 3-4 days after ording from them so I had no problems with shipping as well. Sure there are alot of other places maybe they have better ink I wouldnt know but for as cheap as some are find out for yourself. Buy a cart from each since they dont cost that much and see. Just dont take my or others word it may be just what your looking for and the only way to findout is to try them all :)

BTW I hvent had any clogging problems with the canon using thier ink so either I am lucky or I use it enough to where it will not clog. Any printer using even the original inks will clog if it just sits for months.

My 2 cents.

Your company sounds good, are your ink cartridges the same as Tylermartin?

Edit: Also, what about for laser printers. Would buying remanufactured toners and drums be safe or will they damage the printer?

Now I do. By popular demand, I have added the R200's for sale. Same USA quality ink as the rest of it. Just search for R200 and it will come up.

I have a stock of them coming in, until then... you can still order and it will still drop-ship same day from my supplier's warehouse.

Of course - I can only speak highly of my own products. I highly recommend you guys take one for the team and test it out, as I'm sure you'd be happy to vouch for the rest of Anandtech upon trying these quality products.

Hey, Azo, maybe you can answer a question that's been bugging me for quite awhile, seeing as you're in the business:

Almost all cheap ink-cartridge sites make the claim "meets or exceeds" the original manufacturers specs. But it turns out that NONE of these after-market inks equal OEM quality (especially for photo printing), even if their quality is acceptable for everyday use. How come producing high-quality ink is such a challenge? I have to believe that the actual cost of even the very best ink is pennies per cartridge, so you'd think the Chinese could develop some damn good stuff for next to nothing.

Could this be ink cartridges that have gone bad or have defects in manufacturing process, could these be the same one that they are selling.

Megatoners ink killed my last 2 printers. Tried it on my Xerox Docuprint m750, and clogged the heads 1/2 a cartrage in. I was unable to clean them. Thinking it was just a Time of life failure for the heads, I decided to get another printer, an epson C62 (I think. not 100% sure. it was a cheaper epson photo printer that used the prighter inks) After the factory carts were empty, I switched to megatoners. again, 1/2 a cartage in, the printheads failed. Epson refused warranty because of the ink.

No one ever said I can't take a hint, so I decided that it was time to jump on the laser train. Got a minolta 1380 and have never looked back. More $ outlay in the front, but oh my god does these carts last forever. 1000's of pages for uder a penny a page for black. I am on my 2nd case of 90 brightness paper (I think I am about 1/2 way though my 8th ream in the case) with no issues yet. The cart that came with it was good for 1/2 of the first case, or somewhere around 5000 pages. I am on the second one now, with about 10k pages (15k total) on the counter. That puts me right around 3 cents per page including the cost of the printer, or about 2/3ds of a cent per page not including the printer. I think I am gonna pickup the compainion for this printer in color. I saw it for $200 at amazon & OD.

Of course, my Megatoners experence was about 1.5 years ago. Maybe they stopped making crap since then.

Is that R200 ink dye or pigment?

fyi - it's not a thread crap if it contains useful relevant info

While G&G uses dye-based ink in some of their cartridges, we use pigment-based ink in ALL of our compatibles. Dye ink is much cheaper ink and will fade much faster. Also, all of our components are 100% U.S. made instead of made in China.

The truth of the matter is, the technology is there to produce high quality ink. However, the only thing the Chinese have to compete on is price. They don't have any other competitive advantages to enter this huge U.S. market as you saw with G&G. All companies need to make their own ink composition because we would be faced with a lawsuit if we copied the OEM ink formulation exactly. What companies like G&G do to compete on price is cut corners. They figure if you get it sooo cheap from them, you won't be that angry if a $.75 cartridge isn't up to par. Where the OEM uses pigment inks because it creates a higher quality print, they'll use a much cheaper dye-based ink to cut corners. Also, this cheaper ink doesn't stick to the OEM specficiations for dpi (dot per inch) so it won't create the same shading or ink quality as the OEM. The OEMs have huge budgets dedicated to R&D and are constantly changing their technologies, especially now that they have competition from companies like us. Most of us don't have the same resources as the OEM and it takes time to perfect the ink to exactly match the OEM, which really shows in photo printing. By the time we've managed to come up with a very near substitute, they've come out with another newer, better printer that is seeing a high demand and warrants our attention.

Update:
---------
I ordered a dozen BCI-24 Black last January 28 (Friday afternoon) and of course the order didn't go through until the next Monday (Jan 31).
Today is Februari 7 and I still haven't received anything!
I only got one email from them, which only say: "Thanks! Your order will ship soon."
Not even an invoice...
I did send them an email, asking whether they've shipped my order or not. They replied my email with one word, "yes".

I maybe impatience, but I can say that Megatoners.com is NOT one of the best/recommended online store when it comes down to taking orders & shipping them.

Just for comparison, I once ordered some things from newegg.com on a sunday afternoon. I got email with invoice, another email with shipping confirmation and I got my package the next Tuesday! (and this was with standard Newegg shipping)

Let me help you bci-24 from Newegg is $5.99 and Megatoners is $.89 and you expect that same service, shipping for Newegg is $4.99 unless you want 2 carts ($9.98) and if you want 3 it goes up even higher with Megatoners it's $4.50(?) for 1 or 10+ carts.

Newegg is the best online retailer and they are huge, Megatoners is probably a one man show and is a good online retailer with good (not great) ink carts and they have great prices.

BTW: that does seem to be a long time for your carts.
