I was shopping around for a new PS, and I found that CrazyPC carries a line of AMD approved ATX power supplies for a really good price. They sell the Enermax line at the following prices:

330W - $59
431W - $89
530W - $175

If you are interested, then go to the CrazyPC Power Supplies page.

A HIGHLY rated Power Supply is the Antec PP303X 300watt supply. While load/stress testing this badboy, it OUTPERFORMED even some 400watt Powersupplys! And unless you're buildin some freak-of-nature machine (530watts???? DAMNNNNN!!) the pop303x is an excellent choice. Onvia and Buy.com are 2 places that carry this P/S and if you time the coupon and free shipping deals you can get a real nice deal on it.

Thanks for the Post though, I didn't even know that anything over 400watts (let alone 530watts) existed!

Good Hunting.

The Antec PP303X 300watt supply has a temperature controlled fan. Good if you don't Overclock excessivly, bad if you do...especially if you got a lot of exaust fans. I have a PP303X ariving any day now....

Also, about free shipping and using cupons at Buy.com...how are you guys doing this? I mean, the free shipping states (and from their sales rep), you cannot combine other offers or cupons with free shipping.

Thanks,

My Antec PP303X from Onvia has been on order for at least 3 weeks now!!! Got it at the time for about $35, but it still hasnt shipped. Just make sure whoever you buy it from has it in stock.

From what I've seen, those are pretty good prices for the Enermax ones. How about some new feedback on these?

I noticed that these Enermax PS's have 2 fans, while my AMD approved 300W only has one. Is this a standard feature, ore does it set these PS's even farther ahead? I am pretty sure I will grab the 431W soon...I am still looking around and can't find anything better. It should go well with my 78W 13.8v peltier since it will supply 15A at 12v, which should add a few degrees of cooling over my 300W at 12A @ 12v.

Ok, I've had Antec PP303X 300watt for about 7 months on AMD Athlon 650Mhz with 384Mb of RAM. Guess what happened to it? It just burned out! Smoked and simply gone. Maybe that's just me, but I'll never consider another Antec power supply in my computer.
One more annoying feature about Antec is that it doesn't have a little on/off flip switch on the back of it. I know it is not really usefull feature for ATX, but sometimes when you troubleshoot your motherboard/video/hard drive/memory, plugging and unplugging cord can be quite annoying.
After some research, I've settled with Enermax 450W Power Supply. It has two fans which are very quite, a little on/off switch on the back :))) and every possible connector imaginable. It is very worth couple extra $$$ I spent on it compare to Antec crappy one.

I might be running a 72w peltier so I'm thinking of buying one of these new ones. Is it always better to have two PSs (one for system, one for peltier and fans), or do you guys think I'd be fine with one 400-500w ps?

I'll also put in a yay for the PP303x I've had since Jan - it is an excellent PS, and the temp control feature is easily turned off in software if you're doing heavy o/c'ing. Agreed however, that its annoying with some of the new PSs having to pull the plug rather than flip a switch...sorry to hear about your troubles andrey.
