Old thread brought back from the dead.

***edit: deal seems to be dead half the time. You still get a free vase, but the $10 discount is removed at checkout. You can try calling the 800 number to get a $10 credit on the order...They are usually good about this sort of thing. Just mention you are a Viewsonic customer and that the discount wasn't showing up on the final step***

just thought I'd share this deal with yall...

Go here:

http://www.proflower.com/viewsonic

It says: "Welcome ViewSonic Customers! A $10 discount will be triggered at checkout." By going through the link, you get the $10 discount *AND* a free glass vase as well (normally another $10!)

This was meant for people who buy Viewsonic products but it seems to work for everyone. They have some great prices on several flower designs. The cheapest deals I could find were a dozen multicolored roses + glass vase + chocolates for around $21 shipped (I paid $6 extra for the pink vase cuz it looks much better...still a good deal)

http://products.proflowers.com...nic&catid=Landing2_hia

or

100 blooms of Peruvian Lillies with vase for $20 shipped:

http://products.proflowers.com...her%60s+Day+Tradition+

Mothers Day is May 11th and costs extra to deliver then, but you can schedule delivery a few days early (the 7th) for free. So take advantage of this and make your mom happy! :)

Another capitalist holiday to suck money out of the consumer's pockets. I refuse to buy into this BS. I will cut flowers from my neighbor's garden.

Nice deal, but I'm with Baked on this. I'm sick of all these retail holidays that were created to suck money out of your wallet. Didn't we just finish with Valentines day? Why buy flowers only to have them die within a week. What a waste of money IMHO. I've also been married for 25 years, and never bought flowers for my wife (she understands). We go out to dinner instead so I can enjoy the meal too.

If you are worried about what the Beaver (Jerry Mathers) has to say about this, you have bigger problems than they do. :D :D :D :D

Who cares how a holiday started, who is was created by, and what their intentions were. What is so wrong with having a day to honor mothers for all the crap they put up with us? I know its the least I can do to get my mother a flower or a card or take her out to dinner for loving me and raising me all those years.

I was able to get in on the deal last night before it went dead. Thanks for the post!

I can understand the anger at consumer holidays, but I don't see it as a big deal in this case. I just go to the local Mom n' Pop florist, pick out a nice bouquet, and give it to mom. When I was a kid, they would always give me a few extra flowers (i.e. $35 would net me a ~$45-50 bouquet). And when I would bring it home, it would bring a smile to my mother's face. Not really a big deal for a once-a-year occasion (well, there's also her birthday). In either case, if you are against the consumerism of the holiday, there are tons of things you can do for your mother that don't involve spending money, or you would have done at this point in the year anyway (a friend of mine rents a roto-tiller and tills her garden on Mother's day since this is about the time she would do it anyway). Your call. This deal did seem to work for me when I tried it just now, but the no Sunday delivery turned me off.

Coupon still works for me, thanks for the link OP. And I have to agree with TheDrake, my mom raised my sister and I by herself and gave up almost everything to do it. I don't show her nearly enough appreciation, one day a year to spend a few dollars and show some love is nothing.

I'm totally ok with a day to honor mothers. my wife works her ass off... she deserves a day of pampering... sure you can let her know she's appreciated every day, but having a special day is nice for her and I'm sure all mothers. just buy some flowers.. if you don't want flowers that are going to die in a week, then buy a live plant

Bought roses from ProFlowers a couple times and they are ok.

Roses arrive in box not yet in full bloom (I believe to preserve useable life), so presentation factor is just ok if you're expecting beautiful fully blooming roses.

Also, TV Coupon code for mother's day: "fresh"
Not sure if 1st letter is capitalized, or all lower case.

I used this Viewsonic link to order flowers yesterday morning to get the discount.
I saw their commercial on CNN yesterday and they mentioned the code.
I called them just now that I meant to add the "fresh" code, they're giving me a $10 credit to my account.
Excellent customer service

Viewsonic link + "fresh" code = $10 + $10 = $20 OFF and you still get the free vase if you need it.

Tried it w/ FRESH, Fresh, and fresh. Didn't work for me.

Also the viewsonic link is for a 10% discount, not $10 off. Crappy deal overall.
