There have been some bad postings with bad deals on bad Johnny Cash collections around here. If you want Johnny Cash, here's the set to get. It's a 2 CD set Columbia released recently. Remastered, excellent song selection, pretty comprehensive look at the majority of his career. And the price is excellent. It's at overstock.

The Essential Collection.

He was actually somewhat popular even before he died.

Somewhat popular? In 1969 he outsold the Beatles. Look on allmusic.com at the number of albums Cash issued-its amazing. That said, I'm pretty surprised his death has generated so many sales-its not like it was unexpected. Warren Zevon's heirs must be grumbling as Cash's death rdeprived them of a great amount of the post-death bump in sales.

Go buy At Folsom Prison, they just remasted it and it's <$10. His best album and it rocks. Really. There's nothing like hearing him talk about killing a man and hearing the inmates start to cheer. Lol.

I was actually being somewhat sarcastic. You see.
