Higher cost of fuel = higher transportation and shipping costs = higher prices for food and consumer products = lower consumer confidence in the economy = a worsening economy. Deja Vu of the Carter Administration

It does not matter where your oil comes from , if iraq and kuwait stop producing oil whoever is usualy getting that oil will offer higher prices for oil from US suppliers(supply and demand). It does not matter where the ouil comes from if there is lower supply and equal demand then prices will go higher.

Kuwait is shutting down some of their oil refineries...

Is there information that Kuwait is shutting down their oil wells? A refinery just turns the oil into refined products. The oil if not interrupted can still be shipped out.

To add to the woes, there was also the possibility of a strike in Nigeria. I'm not sure what the status of that strike is right now but it added to the uncertainty of oil prices.

So the US might actually have gas prices similar to Europe?

Seriously though, I don't see this really being a problem until the gas is really expensive, like double or triple what we are paying now.

maybe not for you. but what about the trucker's and others in the shipping business? They're gonna have to charge more, and the costs will reach us (the consumer) in the end.

That means no oil from Kuwait
No oil from Iraq
No oil from Venezuela

I wonder if Kuwait's stance has anything to do with this...

Glad I drive a Civic 😀

I feel sorry for you gas guzzlers

I'm not even glad I drive a civic... I want a metro or a bike or something... even with a civic gas is still too expensive for me...

How much more is it really going to cost you?

Say your vehicle gets 20 mpg. Gas has gone up by $0.30 a gallon where I live. So over a 1000 miles you are going to pay all of $15 more. Unless you work at McDonalds that shouldn't even factor into a budget.
