Just in case there are any other people here that are preachers or serious Bible students, there is a great sale going on at www.christianbook.com which is the website for Christian Book Distributors. There are many really good deals found there for large sets and single religious books. But here are the deals I found most useful for me...

Kittel's Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (10 Volumes) - $99.99. This is still the standard work for word study in the Greek new testament.

Zondervan Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible (5 Volumes) - $49.99. This set is a reference work which handles just about anything dealing with the Bible. Tenney was the editor with many different authors providing the articles. It is more evangelical and conservative.

Barne's Notes on the Bible (14 Volumes) - $74.99. I think the Barne's notes are well known enough - one of the most popular commentaries out there.

Keil & Delitzsch Commentary on the Old Testament (10 Volumes) - $69.99. Don't know too much about this set besides that it has been strongly recommended to me by multiple preachers.

There are many other deals going on at this website. If you have any books that you know you'd like, it's worth it to go there and run a search and see if they might just have it at the price you want.

BTW - i failed to mention it in the original posting, but when you are checking out, place this in your bookbag as well. It's a $5 one year fee for membership which will get you the absolute lowest price on your purchases. The Barne's Notes were $99.99 in my bookbag until i put the $5 membership fee in the bookbag too, then the notes dropped to $74.99. So it was well worth it. It's worth it just to put it in to see if it makes any difference to what you're purchasing. If it doesn't, simply take it out.

Two of the most excellent study resources I have ever come across are Dr. David Stern's Complete Jewish Bible and DR. Stern's Jewish New Testament Commentary, both are also on sale at the Christian Book store website referenced by TFM.

Lest we forget, both the Old Testament (Tenach) and New Testaments (Apostolic Scriptures) were written by Jews.
Dr. Stern, while obviously a Messianiac Jew, is also one of the most profound teachers I've ever encountered. Studying the Jewish New Testament along with Dr. Stern's Commentary is a life-altering event.

Another marvelous web site to explore is First Fruits of Zion. FFOZ is Boaz Michael?s web site. I first learned of FFOZ from Boaz's brother in 1998.

TFM, Since you mention Kittel's, I'd like to point out the fact that "Israel" means "Overcomer", a coincidence that will not be lost on anyone familiar with Revelation 12:11

Cool, I'll have to look into this. I'm surprised and impressed this hasn't filled up with flames. :)

thanks. It reminds me I need to get a replacement of E.W. Bullinger's Companion Bible I lost to a storage auction several years ago.
The non leather bound hardback would be better though since the leather bound one had thin pages that I was afraid to highlight on.

Save your money!
I've read it, and there are SOOooooo many
MUCH BETTER works of fiction!

What do Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy and Jesus Christ have in common ?

Don't you understand ? - Religion is the Devil's work!

Just get a grip and accept the fact that you are INDEED all alone
and that there really is no need to comfort yourself with imaginary
creatures that REALLY, REALLY, love you.

I've ordered from them before - good service and the prices are great. I've found books there for $3 when the cheapest I could find them anywhere else was $8.

I have to thank JackBurton. He linked to "The Koran" which is good for anyone with questions to reference. You can click on "Electronic Text Center" and then "Browse by Language". Click on whatever language you read. There are lots of resources here including the Bible, koran, book of mormon. Check it out.

Actually, depending on what you get, shipping can get expensive (books are quite heavy), but there is a free shipping code that i received with one of the catalogs they sent out. I'm not sure i still have the catalog as it's a one time use per account, and i've used it for mine, but if you need it let me know and i'll look. The free shipping is for standard 1-2 week shipping, but for most orders (without entire sets of multi-volume works) shipping isn't unreasonable at all (my second order after i had already used the free shipping code was 2 books and a bible and the shipping i believe was about $5 for 3-4 day shipping).

BTW - i failed to mention it, and i believe it's revised now above, but when you are checking out, place this in your bookbag as well. It's a $5 one year fee for membership which will get you the absolute lowest price on your purchases. The Barne's Notes were $99.99 in my bookbag until i put the $5 membership fee in the bookbag too, then the notes dropped to $74.99. So it was well worth it. Hey thanks so very much for this. I just bought $248 got the whole church fathers volume set all 38 volumes for $199 (which full price costs $1100 and the cheapest i ever found it was $350 plus you have to pay an insane amount for shipping). But here i only paid $17.50 for standard shipping. Very very good deal indeed. So thanks so very much.

To that damn troll. f..k off. No one asked for your opinion. Go troll somewhere else please.
