Ok... I think we might need to unlock thiw thread for a bit.

After they did not get us our notebooks... or had them at out front door step before having UPS return them... Buy.com issued $65 gift certificates and a 'sorry for our mistake letter'.

I tried to use my gift certificate last weekend and it did not work. The gift certificate would not show up in my cart. I searched on the web for about an hour and found out that this has happened to three other people.

Buy.com will not answer any e-mails sent to support@customerservice.buy.com about this matter and they don't have a phone number so they can not be reached.

I'm thinking about just ordering $65 worth of merchandise and then calling my credit card company and disputing the charge after I receive the goods... opinions?

Mods - please leave this thread open until we at least get a list together of people that were screwed out of the gift certificate or someone posts a buy.com phone number...

It's their sales line, but ask them to give you a customer service number. You could also try to place your order through the sales line and redeem your gift certificate with them.

I think buy.com sent us unactivated GC. What I did was emailing the customer support (yup, the same email address that you use). Their respond to me was that I entered a wrong GC number. Which was totally BS since I cut and paste the number from their email. (Don't use the link given in the email). Voila, the same number worked after I received their reply to my inquiry. Needless to say, the GC is spent. :)

Hrmph! I NEVER got a gift certificate... when did they send these out? I got skrewed out of $40 worth of accessories that never arrived.

Spent about 10 minutes on the phone with the operator. At first she could find no sign of it anywhere... not even my email address was in the system. When she did a search on my home address she found it. But, it's an invalid number. She said it has an extra # in the gift code number. She tried to knock the last number off and try it but that didn't work.

She ended up turning me back the support email address. I guess the phone ops can only take orders.

The auto reply you get when you send an email claims you will get a reply in 12 hours. This has not been the case since Thursday. NO REPLIES and 4 or 5 emails...

Same problem...I called about 2-3 weeks ago and they said they they would get it sorted out with the GC department.

Called again a week and a half later and they said it had been "sent up to corporate".

A week after that, I got another e-mail with a new GC#. I haven't used it yet, but I'm assuming this one works.

They said there was a mistake with the first one and it was inactive...

So what's something good to buy to combine with the coupon? (my coupon was $75 by the way...)
