It IS good news...but not for democrats:

But with Nelson stepping down, the Democrats’ hold on the Senate is in serious doubt, although Democratic leaders believe they can still do so. Republicans are expected to pick up control of the Cornhusker State seat, although popular former Sen. Bob Kerrey (D) has been talking to top Democrats about possibly running again.

Other vulnerable Democrats like Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.) and Jon Tester (Mont.) also face difficult - although winnable - reelection fights.

There will also be costly races in Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, featuring Democratic incumbents Sherrod Brown, Bill Nelson and Bob Casey. President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign is expected to spend heavily in those states, potentially giving a boost to Democratic incumbents.

Overall, 23 Democratic-controlled seats are up this cycle, while Republicans have to defend only 10. Senate Republicans need to only pick up for seats to grab control of the chamber.

Its going to depend on the mood of the American people come 11/2012. We have to realize the GOP had a comeback on 11/2010 on the promise they would make the economy better and instead they made in worse.

As overall congressional approval records are at a world record historic low. At such times the dems need young and new progressive politicians who will not pander to the GOP.

Obama claims the economy is better...you claim it is worse.

Which of you is not telling the truth?

What are you using to make the measurement of the economy for the past year and projecting forward a year?

Actually most all of us would prefer if you shut your fucking piehole for a change.

Though it would be so sweet to see the Republicans take control of both houses in 2012.

You really shouldn't be sniffing glue at your age.

What I am claiming is that the economy would be far better without all that GOP grid lock.

And news update show Obama popularity rating greatly improving in December. As its now back up to 47%, quite possibly because the GOP showed its true colors on the payroll tax extension.

Like always, Congressional approval as a whole is very low but most people think THEIR congressperson is doing a good job.

Well it does happen to be the main point of the article that you linked in the OP.

I think his wet dream of the GOP having control of both the Senate and the HOR in the next election cycle is just that....a wet dream.

I would like to agree with you Ausm, but it is too likely the GOP will control the House, Senate, and Presidency after 11/2012 unless democratic prospects improve.

And then American can see what a Hoover2 administration does to really really tank the American economy at near the speed of light. Oh, goody, a return to 25% unemployment is very likely by spring.

We already know what happens when GOP controls the government. They can't handle it.
